City Offers Curbside Holiday  Tree Collection Starting January 12

SALT LAKE CITY – Salt Lake City will once again offer curbside collection of holiday trees for Salt Lake City residents beginning on Monday, January 12, 2015. Trees must be placed on the curb, free of lights or decorations, before January 12 for guaranteed pickup and composting.

Each year, Salt Lake City offers two options for residents to recycle their trees through the City’s composting program. In addition to the annual curbside pickup, residents can place their discarded holiday tree in their curbside compost bin, also known as the brown bin, for regular weekly pickup.

In the case of dramatic snow fall, adjustments to the curbside holiday tree collection schedule may be required.
