“We
cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about
progress and prosperity for our community... Our
ambitions must be broad enough to include the
aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for
our own.”
- Cesar Chavez The mission
of the Office is to elevate the protection of basic
human rights for all Salt Lake City residents through
policy, education, advocacy and celebration. It enables
us to make Salt Lake City the best place to live, work,
play, visit and do business.
As a public service entity,
our citizens and employees must reflect the broad
diversity we have in Salt Lake City. We value the many
diverse cultures represented in our community. We are
committed to strengthening our Great American City by
recognizing the value of inclusion.
We intend to support
diversity and human rights efforts, legally and through
education outreach, to ensure and expand the diversity
of our city. It is our intention that this new website
will lend itself to inform our constituents, employees,
and visitors of this significant concept.
