Mayor Jackie Biskupski, Council Member Lisa Adams, and Sugar House Community Council Chair Amy Barry will take part in a ceremonial “demolition” of the abandoned Ute Car Wash structure on 2011 South and 863 East in Sugar House.

Salt Lake City initiates courtesy dismissal program for city parking pay stations

Salt Lake City Parks and Public Lands Announces Grand Opening for Fairmont Park Playground

The City’s Public Services Department and the Parks and Public Lands Division invite the public to attend the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Fairmont Park Playground on Friday, June 10th, 2016 from 3:30-5pm. Following the ribbon cutting there will be light refreshments and the Sugar House Boys and Girls Club will have an opportunity to enjoy playtime on the new playground.  


Salt Lake City Council unanimously confirms Lara Fritts as Director of Economic Development

Lara Fritts, Mayor Jackie Biskupski’s appointee for Salt Lake City Economic Development Director, was unanimously confirmed Tuesday night by the Salt Lake City Council. 
Earlier in the day, the seven-member council interviewed Lara Fritts during its work session in its advice and consent role for executive appointments.

Salt Lake City seeks public input on new resource centers for those experiencing homelessness

The Salt Lake City Homeless Services Site Evaluation Commission (HSSEC) will host four community workshops between June 13th and June 20th, to provide the public an opportunity to hear about the site selection process, learn about the population, and provide feedback on how new homeless services can be incorporated into local communities.

Salt Lake City and County Building to undergo stone repair and seismic upgrades

Salt Lake City will begin a three-year project to restore the building’s stone facade, repair windows, and perform a seismic upgrade of the historic building located at 451 South State Street. Big-D Construction will begin the work on June 6, 2016, with a scheduled completion date of Fall 2018. The building will continue to operate as Salt Lake City Hall and remain open to the public throughout the work.

Choose a Salt Lake City park and celebrate National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday

Today Mayor Jackie Biskupski signed a proclamation in recognition of National Kids to Parks Day, on Saturday, May 21. The day is an annual effort to build stewardship for all parks and open spaces in the United States, especially among young people.

Jennifer Seelig, SLC Community Relations Director and former state legislator, to join Fair Park Board

Mayor Jackie Biskupski’s appointment of Jennifer Seelig to the Utah State Fair Park Board of Directors was unanimously confirmed on May 18 by the Utah Senate.
The Senate, meeting in interim session, confirmed Jennifer to a newly created board seat that requires a Salt Lake City resident who lives adjacent to the Park. Jennifer has lived in the neighboring Rose Park community for 15 years.
