As part of its budget discussions, the Council preliminarily restored funding for summer fireworks shows – contingent upon good air quality. The $40,000 budget, which has funded fireworks shows at Liberty Park, Sugar House and Jordan Park in the past, had been cut from Mayor Becker’s proposed budget. The Council unanimously supported the restoration, contingent upon the air quality on the day of the scheduled shows.

Mayor to Host Community Conversation on Air Quality Issues

SALT LAKE CITY – Mayor Ralph Becker invites residents to join him and a panel of local policymakers for an informal community conversation about air quality issues on Wednesday, Feb. 5 from 6-8 p.m. at Sorenson Unity Center, 1383 S. 900 West.

9 Line Corridor Master Plan Draft Review

The Council was briefed on the draft plan, which creates a framework for future development of the 9 Line Trail and property along the corridor. The conversation centered on maintenance and implementation of the plan.
