Update on status of investigations into July 26 police incident at University of Utah Medical Center

Today, Mayor Jackie Biskupski briefed reporters on the status of the Internal Affairs (IA) and Police Civilian Review Board (CRB) investigations regarding the actions of two Salt Lake City Police Department officers at the University of Utah Medical Center on July 26.  The IA investigation began July 27 and the CRB investigation began September 1.

Multi-agency recovery center will open Wednesday to assist victims of July 26th severe weather damage

Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, and the State of Utah have joined efforts to open a Multi-Agency Recovery Center (MARC) for assisting victims of the severe weather event of July 26th.

Mayor Jackie Biskupski and Police Chief Mike Brown honor police officers and civilians at 36th Annual Police Awards ceremony

Today, May 17, 2016, Mayor Jackie Biskupski and Police Chief Mike Brown honored 26 Salt Lake City police officers and civilians for acts of bravery, sacrifice, and civic engagement during the 36th Annual Police Awards luncheon at the City Creek Marriott in Salt Lake City.
 
The SLCPD present the awards yearly in conjunction with National Police Week, which this year runs from May 15-21. The Rotary Club of Salt Lake City co-sponsored the event.
