Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee
The Mayor's Bicycle Advisory Committee (MBAC) is an all-volunteer advocacy organization that works together with City employees to make Salt Lake City more bicycle friendly.
The mission of the MBAC is to promote, enhance, preserve and, where necessary, restore physical, social, political and economic environments in which bicycling is recognized as an essential element of a clean, healthy, and vital community.
Members of the public serve on the committee on a volunteer basis, there are no formally-appointed committee members. Activities include a monthly meeting to discuss bicycling issues and organizing events for Bike Week in early May. The committee's email list consists of over 250 participants and serves as a main outlet for bicycle advocacy information in the area.
The MBAC meets on the second Wednesday of every month from 5 pm to 7 pm in Room 335 on the 3rd floor of the City and County building at 451 South State Street. All persons interested in making Salt Lake City more bicycle friendly are invited to attend and participate. If you would like to discuss a particular topic or issue in an upcoming meeting, please contact the chair of the commitee to add it to the agenda or you can bring it up at the meeting under the new business section towards the end of the meeting.
